EEMSA’s Starting 11

By Leon C. Kange

On Wednesday, July 28, the Limbe Centenary Stadium played host to Continental FA and EEMSA of Tiko in Match Day two of the South West Mini Interpool.

The game seemed dull in the first 45 minutes, although the sun smiled down on the green turf with very few chances and misplaced passes.

After the 15-minute team talk, the second segment sparked to life when Nanje Obase of EEMSA missed from close range in the 56th minute. Continental FA then capitalised three minutes later from a counter-attack that saw Ako Tabe pick out Jefta Arrey who was kept onside by a lazy George Bush before slotting the ball in to give the Gra-Gra boys the lead.

With a third of the game still to play, the Tiko side injected pressure into the game with wave after wave of attacks. The most eye-catching came at the 79th minute when Ketu Fambere flashed a beautiful pass across for Boris Woreku who misconnected his kick and missed woefully.

The game seemed destined to end in favour of the Buea side until minute 90 when Bache Manfred did the usual and scored to restore parity in Limbe.

Odd as even it ended, but a point for EEMSA is insufficient as they crash out of the tournament with one game to go. Now all eyes are on Continental FA who sit second with four points and Best Stars who top the log with six points. The pair will face each other on the final day for top spot in group A.
