The week-long activities that culminated the National FENASCO League A Games in Limbe have ended with athletes taking the next rendezvous for Abong Mbang in the East Region of Cameroon.

The games saw Limbe, the town of friendship and opportunities, vibrating to the rhythm of sports, culture, and tourism.

Over 2000 athletes from the different ten regions of Cameroon competed in 12 disciplines, among which were basketball, football, judo, and handball.

During the closing ceremony on Tuesday, April 9, Secondary Education Minister, Prof. Nalova Lyonga, said it was one of the best FENASSCOs she has ever witnessed.

The closing was characterised by a march past from the various regional representatives and a football match that saw the East Region thrash the Centre by 2-1.

In attendance were several government ministers, among them the Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms, Joseph Le; Minister of Youth and Sport, Mounouna Foutsou; and Minister Delegate at the Ministry of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, Jean De Dieu Momo.

Minister Nalova, while declaring the FENASSCO closed, appreciated the organiser for a wonderful job, starting from the construction of the monument at Government High School Limbe to the cooks and those in charge of awards.

By matching words with actions, she gave special prizes to those who made the 24th edition of the FENASCO League A Games a success.

The prizes were categorised among the best-behaved delegations, students, the best team, and others.

The Governor of the Southwest Region, Bernard Okalia Bilai, was awarded for ensuring security during the games, while the Regional Delegation of Secondary Education for the Southwest Region was recognised for the success of the FENASCO.

Meanwhile, Minister Mounouna Foutsou awarded the Northwest, Littoral, and West Regions the most civic delegations to the 2024 FENASSCO League A games in Mokundange.

With a wrap in Limbe, athletes will be preparing for the 25th edition in Abong Mbang, Haut, and Nyong Divisions of the Southwest Region.

The flag of FENASSCO was handed to Minister Joseph Le, who is a son of the East Region.
