The Cameroon film industry is gradually bringing itself to the forefront of the African movie industry. With constant film releases, and awards won, both nationally and internationally, the Cameroonian public should rest assured that they are close to taking over in due time.

One of the films that have been at the forefront, representing Cameroon across the borders is The Fisherman’s Diary.

The movie has been making waves in international award shows and festivals with over 22 selections in 22 different countries including five award nominations in: Best film; Best actor; Best Director; Best Production and Best Soundtrack at the prestigious Paris Arts and Movie Awards, 2020.

About The Movie

The Fisherman’s Diary is produced by Cameroonian heavy weight actor and multiple award winning actor Kang Quintus and directed by, Enah Johnscot featuring some of the best actors, actresses and music stars across Africa such as one of the greatest African actor and director of all-time Ramsey Nouah among others.

The movie is about a 12 year old girl-Ekah (Faith Fidel) who is inspired by the story of the youngest Noble Peace prize-Malala Yousafzai. She is determined to go to school in a village of fishermen where the education of a girl child is considered to be a taboo. Her burning drive and determination to break this old adage get her embroiled with her father’s –Solomon (Kang Quintus) past experience with girl child education.

Ramsey Nouah

Ramsey Nouah is considered to be one of the greatest African actors and Director ever, with twenty movies on Netflix. His acting career kicked off when he starred in Nigerian TV soap opera Fortunes. He has since appeared in numerous films starring as the lead role, and has been called “Lover boy” for his numerous roles in romantic films. He is considered to be one of the most sought-after actors in Nigeria.

In the Fisherman’s Diary, Ramsey plays the role of primary school headmaster.

Daphne

Daphne is a frontline Cameroonian singer. She won multiple awards both nationally and internationally including the biggest music awards organised by AFRIMA. She has also won multiple Canal D’or.

Daphne made her first acting debut in the Fisher’s Man Diary playing as Ramsey Noah’s wife.

The Man Kang Quintus

Kang Quintus is a multiple award-winning actor who has worked with heavyweight actors and actresses in Africa and beyond. He has over ten awards to his name.

He is often referred to by his colleagues as The Method Actor because of his intense and passionate interpretation of his roles.

The Fisher’s Man Diary has already gotten him four best actor nominations at the New York International Film Award; Rome Prisma Movie Awards; Los Angeles Independent Movie Awards and another Best actor Nomination at the prestigious Paris Arts and Movie Awards scheduled for Paris, France in September 2020. 

The Producer/ Executive Producer of the Fisherman’s Diary, Kang Quintus is driven by dreams and an inspiration to both the young and old.  He is a man with fundamental decency, moral authority, unimpeachable integrity and outstanding judgment.

He believes that, to achieve a coherence and consensus, there is absolute need for a positive spirit of engagement and a sense of cohesion.

This Renaissance man has as his motto “Execute your functions with sufficient Decorum”. This explains why his career in the Cameroon film industry has never been shambolic and disfunctioning.
