CUSA Bounces Back To Winning Ways

From a streak of draws against Buea United FC in day one, EEMSA in day two, Captain Wana Vefonge and his team mates returned to winning ways, whitewashing FUSSA 6-0 at the Molyko Omnisports Stadium.

In one of the day three games of group B in the Southwest Regional Championship, Catholic University Sports Academy, CUSA, of Buea welcomed Future Soccer Stars, FUSSA, of LImbe.

Despite the absence of CUSA’s Coach, Brandon Enobi, his foot soldiers trampled on their visiting counterparts FUSSA from the town of friendship, Limbe.

Despite the slippery nature of the pitch, CUSA were a goal up barely ten minutes into the game, courtesy Fabrice Njie. The Saints continued domination with another goal from Midfielder Peter Shu. Before both teams went on break, the score went to three, through an error from Goalkeeper Antoine Alaba of FUSSA who sent the ball into the cage he is mandated to protect.

Back from the break, FUSSA created chances to reduce deficit but wasted their opportunities and things became worse as Freddie Robert, striker for CUSA, scored to make it 4-0.

Few minutes later, Richard Same made it 5-0 by using his rapidity and technical skills to pass through a lacklustre FUSSA defence. Peter Suh completed the goal feast with a brace handing the much deserved victory to his Catholic University side.

In an interview with CUSA’s skipper, Wana Vefonge, he said “we will continue to work so that we can qualify for the mini-interpool just like we did last season.”

Catholic University Sports Academy now stands second, with 13pts in pool B behind EEMSA with 16points.
