Four English Premier League clubs are scrambling for the signature of Cameroon international, Clinton Njie, with West Tyneside club, Newcastle United said to be on pole position to secure the services of the striker.
Njie left from the French Ligue 1 side Olympic Lyonnais (OL) to the English League for Tottenham Hotspur where he had a brief spell and returned to Olympic Marseille still in France. At the beginning of the 2018/2019 season, Clinton Njie was close to signing for Portuguese side Sporting CP, unfortunately this switch crumbled because he failed the medicals. It is worth noting that Clinton might be going to the EPL for a second spell if he gets to put pen on paper for any of the sides demanding his services.
The 25year old has appeared in just a total of nine games for OM this season. Information from Britain say, the former Spurs and OL player might not reject offers from the clubs rushing for his services due to minimal game time in France.
With the difficulty OM coach Rudi Garcia has faced offensively during the first half of the season, he want to use this transfer window to look for solutions with ambition of getting the service of Mario Balotteli. So Clinton and two others, Valere Germain and Kostas Mitroglou are said to be packing their bags out of Marseille this transfer window.
Sources say the English League clubs struggling for the Cameroonian striker are Burnley, Cardiff City and Crystal Palace and Newcastle who just joint the race to acquire the Small Soppo, Wolliva boy’s services.
It is still to be confirmed if the Cameroonian forward will return to the English Premier League, a championship he knew with Tottenham in the 2015/2016 season.
