On that fateful day, Friday September 22, (2017) activities were going on very well (In Mutengene-Cameroon) in the morning. Within the day, we heard some strange noise, but we were working a faraway from the roadside. We just dismissed it thinking it was a minor issue that had certainly died down.
On my way back home in the Evening, I discovered that the whole place was scanty and the environment was different. I became afraid but decided to continue on my way back home. There was no taxi, so I was trekking. Officers arrested me and started molesting me saying that I am one of those boys (Amba fighters). I tried to explain. I showed them my identity card but they did not believe my story.
They insisted that I was one of them (Amba fighters). That is how I was arrested and brought to the Buea Central Prison. When I was brought to the military court, I was charged in relation to the crisis. I was charged with terrorism, insurrection, secession, and so many things. There were so many charges that I could not even believe, and the way they made us to be frightened with the so many charges, I was like, God where is this coming from?
When I got news that we will be released, I was happy, but the number (99 out of thousands) discouraged me, I just prayed and had my trust in God.
I am 21 years old, and I am a student, and since the crisis crippled schools, within this period, I kept myself busy by doing painting jobs and other petty jobs. I intend to continue with my education.
