Limbe-Mawoh Quarter Hosts First Small-Goalposts Football Tournament

The first edition of the Mawoh Football Tournament, small goalposts was launched Sunday, July 14, 2019, at the iconic Play Hard field in Limbe.

The opening encounter which was a classic between Group A big guns, Area  Football Club(FC) of Mawoh Quarter and Montana FC from Motowoh ended on a 1 – 0 defeat for Area FC.

The goal by defender and man of the match, Ayissi Laymerk, came midway into the second half from the penalty spot.

Montana FC tops Group A with Makdad FC in view for their next encounter in one of three matches to take place on matchday two. 

Other encounters will see Group B teams Liorasco FC and Banjuju FC go head to head on the first encounter of the day, followed by Exodus United versus Gucci FC.

The Mawoh Football Tournament is organised for adolescents by a group of dynamic youths from Mawoh Quarter. It aims to occupy youngsters in a competitive sporting atmosphere, foster peace and social cohesion in the community.

All seven teams competing in the small goalposts football tournament look forward to winning the trophy and ultimate cash prize of forty thousand francs CFA.
