The Under 23 Lions of Cameroon, on November 4, were treated to a humiliating 1-0 defeat by Leopard FC of Douala.
This defeat comes barely days after the lads of Coach Rigobert Song were held to a virgin tie by an MTN Elite One side Eding Sport FC.
Leopard Sportive of Douala was the unfortunate finalist of the cup of Cameroon in 1993. The rejuvenated side has been training ahead of the national playoffs for the promotion to the MTN elite two championships after grapping the qualification ticket to represent the littoral region.
In preparation for the clash with Chad, under 23 lions also known as the Olympic Lions head coach, Song, called up 33 players for camp in Yaoundé made up of home based players and 14 players from abroad still to get into the den.
Sources at the football governing body of Cameroon FECAFOOT confirmed that this encounter is one of the many preparatory matches needed by Song’s lads to experiment their assimilation rate ahead of the clash with their counterparts of Chad in a fortnight.
It is worth noting that this selection is void of any player from the Douala based side.
