Northwest representative at the National playoffs (Interpool) Foncha Street of Bamenda have beaten League one side Yong Sports Academy (YOSA) 1-0, in their last friendly game in Bamenda ahead of the National playoffs.
Coach Frankline Anumewa and his foot soldiers used this encounter to do finishing touches on some aspect which were done during practice and also bid farewell to the Northwest football family. The lone goal of the encounter came at minute 30 courtesy a Bright Vofack Bassa strike.
Placed in Pool C with Mercure of Bafia and Etoile Filante of Garoua the boys of Foncha Street prepare to leave Bamenda on Tuesday, August 20 for the first game in the Interpools.
YOSA is in recruitment and preparatory phase for the 2019/2020 season and gave the opportunity for four of the players scouted from the Southwest region in the starting XI. Two from Continental FA Robert Mboukam, Bertrand Epoge, one from Buea United FC and Cinyodev FA Djokam Jimmy and Franklin Yusinyu
“It was not an easy encounter; our opponents of the day were good. Though we lost I still give thanks to God and pray we continue to work hard so we can achieve more in the season which is about to commence.” Bertrand Epoge told Atlantic Chronicles after the encounter.
