BUEA, Cameroon- Nestlé has launched a new website which aims at educating and inspiring aspiring cooks and adventurous chefs in Central and West Africa, on how to prepare balanced African meals using its food seasoning, MAGGI.
Nestlé says the MAGGI brand website is aimed at meeting its consumers’ digital and nutritional appetites, while also contributing to an enhanced quality of life which will lead to a healthier future.
The MAGGI website, www.maggi.cm for Cameroon, provides “… over 40 African recipes on an easy-to-use platform, which can help families cook balanced and nutritious meals,” Nestlé says.
The website equally streams videos containing cookery guidelines for kids, adventurous cooks, those who love a classic dish and time-saving one-pot meals, through one of its popular online nutrition education drama series, Yelo Pèppè, available on YouTube from June 8, 2020.
“MAGGI innovates once more by providing different variations of beloved African dishes that offer something for every food lover,” said Dominique Allier, Business Executive Officer for Culinary at Nestlé Central and West Africa.

The MAGGI website was built in collaboration with top African chefs, expert nutritionists, and local food influencers, and provides helpful tips in some recipes on how to boost iron intake and balanced dishes.
Nestlé MAGGI brand also aims at reducing salt intake by increasing its micronutrients such as iron, to help tackle iron deficiency at an affordable price, the company says. To Nestlé, its MAGGI brand will create more value and build the local African economy in many ways. The brand has already employed more than 2,000 people in Central and West Africa, as nearly three-quarters of its raw materials sourced locally from suppliers, providing income, and creating job opportunities for thousands of Africans.
