BUEA, Cameroon- Africa’s pride and air travel leader, Ethiopian Airlines, has delivered vital medical supplies to Cameroon, to help Government in the fight against Covid-19.
The coronavirus has now been declared by the World Health Organisation, WHO, as a health pandemic.
In a recent statement, the airlines announced that it “is pleased to deliver these much needed critical medical supplies and equipment which will help in the global fight against the Covid-19.”
An official of the airline furthered stated: “We appreciate the donation of the Jack Ma Foundation and the generosity of Mr. Jack Ma. We admire our Prime Minister, H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed for his initiative and organisation of the entire coordination of the process.”
The medical supplies delivered by Ethiopian Airlines are part of the coordinated efforts by concerned stakeholders and corporations to contribute positively to fighting and extinguishing the global health pandemic.
Africa’s leaders in the aviation sector further stated that, “as an indigenous and pioneer Pan African airline, Ethiopian Airlines has stood together with Africans at all times for the last seven decades. Ethiopian Airlines has supported Africans in good and challenging times.”
Reverting to the present global health pandemic, officials of the airline affirmed the company’s covenant to be there for Africa, stating that, “in this unprecedented global pandemic, Ethiopian Airlines will continue its commitment for African people to help them fight and win this invisible enemy.
“Today, we are very happy to deliver these medical supplies to the Government and people of the Republic of Cameroon,” the statement reads in apart.
Apart from Cameroon, Ethiopian is delivering the first wave of Covid-19 prevention materials, donated by Jack Ma Foundation to Africa, and supported by Ethiopia’s PM, H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed’s initiative and organisation of the entire coordination process. The support includes 1.1million testing kits, 6 million masks, and 60,000 protective suits to be distributed throughout Africa by Ethiopian Airlines.
