CAS Ends Seidou Mbombo Njoya’s Reign As FECAFOOT Boss

by Atlantic Chronicles

On Friday, January 15, 2021, the Court of Arbitration for Sports invalidated the election that brought the executive committee of Cameroon’s Football governing body, FECAFOOT to power.

Exactly less than 24 hours to the start of the CHAN, CAS annulled the election that brought Prince Seidou MBOMBO NJOYA’s executive committee to the helm of FECAFOOT. The decision was taken after CAS received a complaint filed by AS MEIGANGA and (ACEFAC) Association of Amateur Football Clubs which carries the background of OIympique of Meiganga.

Both protesters (ACEFAC and AS Meiganga) reported acts of corruption during the general assembly which validated the founding texts of FECAFOOT on October 10, 2018, in Mbankomo, near Yaoundé.

Also, the Committee headed by Dieudonné Happi was accused of having violated several provisions of the statutes of May 2009 which were in force before October 10, 2018.

It is worth noting that the decision of CAS only concerns the executive committee of FECAFOOT which does not belong to the current SG and all the staff recruited under its auspices.
