Cameroon Gets First Sports Channel, CRTV Sports & Entertainment

Cameroon Radio and Television, CRTV, has realised its project of creating a new channel to the serve the nation with sports news, commentary, and entertainment.

CRTV Sports and Entertainment has this day, June 6, 2019 become the latest acquisition of the Cameroon Radio Television on the satellite after CRTV NEWS last year. This Channel shall give priority to sports and entertainment-related events. 

Under the patronage of the Minister of Communication and Board Chair of the Cameroon Radio and Television, Mr Rene Emmanuel Sadi, and other distinguished members of government, the Director General of the CRTV Charles Ndongo in his speech said “CRTV sports and Entertainment will give priority to action and not analysis or commentaries of sporting events.” 

This channel comes to existence at a time when two of Cameroon’s Football teams will be representing nation. The Lionesses will be in France in the days ahead for the Women’s World Cup and the Lions will be in Egypt for the African Nations Cup.

Speaking to Atlantic Chronicles after watching the inaugural ceremony, a fervent CRTV fan, Mr Divine Ngwa said “I have been waiting for this channel for the longest time, now it is here, I just hope and wish my aspirations about this channel are met”.
