Cameroonian singer, songwriter, performer and actress, Daphne Njie and Cameroonian renowned actor, producer, executive producer, Kang Quintus have donated mattresses, food items, books, and didactic school materials to Grace of God Philanthropic Foundation Orphanage. The duo donated the items during a recent joint birthday celebration.
The Cameroonian filmmaker and Director of “The Fisher Man’s Dairy”, Kang Quintus said because of his love for kids and the needy, he couldn’t think of a better place to celebrate his birthday than a place like Grace of God Philanthropic Foundation Orphanage, because putting smiles on the kids’ faces is “to make them know they are people out here that love them, and to remind them that if they need anything they are people of goodwill to help them”.
On her part, Daphne revealed that she plans to do the exercise twice a year. Her first exercise this year is thus her birthday which together with Kang, she celebrated with kids at the Grace of God Philanthropic Foundation Orphanage. At the celebration ground, the musician insisted that only Cameroonian songs be played, as a way of supporting home-produced music.
Ewube, another Cameroonian superstar, present during the birthday celebration, said she grew up in a home of about 15, which was not an orphanage but her mum took care of a lot of kids who needed help, and as such, she feels that the orphanage is a good place to celebrate a birthday.
The kids participated in programs like dancing, singing and other talent activities. The Cameroonian superstars also helped in the renovation of the orphanage.
The delighted kids eagerly participated in the dance and singing competitions, and won prizes as a reward for their young talents.
Giovanni and Gift were among the lucky prize winners of the day. They said they had fun meeting the celebrities and also being able to win prizes alongside the donations they received. They expressed gratitude while wishing the donors a happy birthday and career successes.
