Jason Mia silenced Buea United FC alias Mountain Boys, with a 4th-minute cutting raiser, to send a strong signal across to clubs in Pool A of the Championship where they stood 4th at the end of the first part of the League.

The second round of the Southwest Regional Championship kicked off Saturday, March 14, 2020, with games across stadia in the region. In Buea, BGS Molyko hosted two mouth-watering encounters.

The Mountain Boys came close to getting an equalizer through Rezo, the club’s top scorer but he failed to put a smile on the faces of fans who answered present on that day.

H.O Academy came close to getting a second in before the end of the first sediment but were denied by the man in black for a handball.

The second sediment saw both sides create chances but failed to concretize on any of them, despite the substitutions made by Coach Emmanuel Agbor aka Alabas, they all proved futile with a resilient and formidable opponent in all components.

Speaking to the media after the game was the gaffer for H.O Academy, who said, “Our secret is work, we learned a lot from our previous defeats in the first round, so we brought in some physicality and fighting spirit into the team, an aspect we lacked in the first part of the season. We are also using these games now to prepare for the Cup of Cameroon because we intend to go far in the competition.” He added.

The management of Buea United FC honoured one of the players, Zebedee Mukete, who remained monumental despite the defeat with a Cheque of FCFA 10,000. “Even though we lost I am proud to have been awarded this cheque, when you put your efforts you will achieve. We shall continue to work so we can go a step ahead.” Mukete added.

With this victory, Hiliare Owona Academy goes third on the log with 6pts while Buea United stand behind the Gra-Gra boys, Continental FA with 9pts.
